The parallel viscoelastic model
Sketch the length of a piece of material whose behaviour is described by the mechanism of Figure 2 as a function of time, in response to an instantaneously applied tensile force. Assume that the force is applied at time=0. Similarly, sketch the change in length as a function of time when the load is removed at time t1.
